Vendor Demonstration with Iconic Cocktail Co. + Provision Coffee

Uptown recently welcomed long-time vendor Iconic Cocktail Co. and local coffee bean roaster, Provision Coffee, to the Demonstration Tent at the market to craft and sample specialty coffee and tea drinks, featuring Iconic’s cocktail mixers!

Uptown-goers eagerly gathered around the tent near the entrance of the market as Kaylee, of Iconic Cocktail Co., and Daniel and Jennifer, of Provision Coffee crafted a speciality coffee drink, made with Iconic Cocktail Co.’s Spiced Honey Mixer and a tea drink, made with Iconic’s Meyer Lemon Balm. Both mixers are available at their booth at Uptown Saturday, weekly.

To begin, Daniel and Jennifer of Provision Coffee began by brewing their signature Prickly Pear Blend of coffee, as well as frothing the milk for their speciality coffee drink sampling. The aroma was warm and awakening from the freshly brewed hot coffee. Onlookers enjoyed as they poured the frothed milk over each pour of coffee, and added Figgy Pudding Bitters, Simple Syrup, and Iconic Cocktail Co.’s Spiced Honey Mixer. To finish, they added a dash of Black Walnut Bitters (just a mist!) and garnished each drink with Cinnamon and Cardamom.

After everyone was caffeinated with a warm beverage, Daniel and Jennifer began to craft their speciality tea drink — a beautiful iced refreshment with citrus flavors. They began with Darjeeling Tea, a thin-bodied, light-colored infusion with a floral aroma, from Provision Coffee. In small batches, they combined the Iced Tea with Simple Syrup, Blood Orange Saffron Shrub, Iconic Cocktail Co.’s Meyer Lemon Balm (made with local Arizona lemons from McClendon’s Select) and a dash of Saffron Bitters. They garnished each drink with a freshly peeled Orange Twist.

Both of these drinks could easily be replicated at home, in your own kitchen, and would make an enjoyable treat on a cozy day where a hot coffee is desired, or when craving a refreshment on a warm Summer afternoon.
